Portraits and figurative work have been exhibited in major open and prize exhibitions throughout 2025, and London W1 Galleries, WIA Gallery, 69 York Street, London, Marylebone, W1, the Mall Galleries London with the Society of Women Artists, The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum (Coventry Open), Royal Birmingham Society Artists (RBSA) Drawing Prize & Highly Commended in RBSA Watercolour Prize, Sculpture Lounge Summer Exhibition, West Yorkshire, The New Art Gallery, Walsall, The Rose Paterson Gallery at Weston Park, Cupola Contemporary Art, Sheffield, Potfest, Himley Hall, Dudley, Hanbury Hall (National Trust), Worcestershire and independent Galleries.

Her sculptures, ranging from intimate portraits to larger-scale sculptures, capture the essence of her subjects through sensitivity and dynamic presence. Inspired by the deep connection between nature, identity, community and human emotion, her work often reflects fragility, strength, and a lifelong love of horses through the graceful dynamism of her equine sculptures and her childhood rural Oxfordshire roots.

Community Engagement & Inclusion

Alongside her sculptural work, Gwenda shares this passion through workshops and demonstrations, particularly in mixed-ability communities, including dementia patients and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Her inclusive approach encourages creativity and connection, making art accessible and meaningful to all.

“Gwenda’s workshop was not just a session; it was a truly transformative experience. Many of the students in our SEN group come from backgrounds where they are often overlooked. Through her guidance, she instilled confidence, self-worth, and inspired every young person involved. The impact of this experience will stay with them far beyond the workshop.”

— Mr A. Dale, 6th Form Co-ordinator, Hednesford Valley High School

A graduate in Three-Dimensional Design from Birmingham Central University, Gwenda’s love of vibrant multicultural urban communities both here and in her world travels, has further shaped her curiosity, observation, and constant gathering of inspiration.

Previously working as an award-winning interior designer, her design background informs her sculptural approach and how each piece interacts with the onlooker, space, light, and environment.

Gwenda continues to develop her practice through professional exploration, drawing from lived experience and a dedication to craftsmanship. Her sculptures invite reflection on strength, fragility, memory, and our shared connection to the natural world. A celebration and narrative of life, whether human or animal, brought to life with a delicate balance of grace and strength.
