This sculpture is the first in a series which explores the deep and enduring relationship between horses and humanity. It captures the nobility and strength of the horse, an animal that has stood by mankind in both times of peace and war.
The piece reflects on the high cost of conflict, as indicated by the phrase “An Eye for an Eye, We All End Up Blind.” The haunting empty eye sockets serve as a poignant reminder of the devastating toll of war, symbolising the blindness and suffering it inflicts on all of us.
Through the horse’s silent yet powerful presence, this sculpture honours its significant role in human history and the profound connection shared between us.
