Workshops-It’s Good to Talk, Share & Create
Posted on Feb 28, 2025This month has been all about sharing, connecting, and seeing how offering your skills and experience, sometimes just for the love of it, can open unexpected doors. From new exhibition invites to radio interviews, everything stems from simple acts: It’s good to talk, share and create!
Charity Art Workshop & Press Coverage
Being asked to run a Plasma of Hope Art workshop by the dynamic Charity founder Marie-Claire Kofi with fellow artist Mukah Ispahani, with support from BBC Children in Need was an incredible experience. Art uniquely connects and uplifts us, seeing the joy art brought to these families affected by sickle cell disease and other blood-related conditions was unforgettable. So was the hospitality from such a welcoming community and traditional cuisine of jollof rice, puff puff and birthday celebrations. The press coverage from the Express and Star also helped spread awareness of this wonderful charity’s 5th Birthday Year, and Wellness theme, embracing what makes you happy, reinforces the power of community through creativity and taking so much more away than their amazing canvases and creations, with fantastic enthusiasm and feedback to this oversubscribed workshop and a pleasure to host.

Free drop-in sculpture workshop – The New Art Gallery Walsall, exhibiting artist community engagement, 74th Annual exhibition Walsall Society of Artists
I had a great time as an exhibiting artist, holding this free hands-on clay drop-in workshop demonstrating sculpture techniques at this wonderful gallery. Sharing my passion for clay and sculpture with visitors, surrounded by such diverse art, with my equine horse, animal and human portraits for reference if required,
Moments like this remind me why I love what I do, sparking curiosity, encouraging hands-on creativity, and making art more accessible and diversely inclusive to all cross-sections of communities.
The smiles say it all, and one particular young lady disclosed “It’s the quietest I’ve ever been in my life doing clay”. Her parents and sisters agreed.
There were several fantastic horses, figures, portraits and other subjects sculpted throughout the day by future budding artists, with no one wanting to go and I had several requests to do this workshop weekly!

New Exhibition Texture meets Form– 28th February to 27th March The Crossing Gallery, St Paul’s, Darwell St, Walsall WS1 1DA
I’m excited to share that I’ve been invited to exhibit my smaller sculptures at this Gallery right next to the bus station, which has recently added facilities to exhibit 3-dimensional work. Being part of these opportunities reinforces active participation in art communities.
This invite to exhibit was made whilst holding the free clay workshop where I had my equine and animal sculptures for reference to sculpt from or as subject inspiration.

Upcoming Radio Interview – Cheryl Ann Boot Show on Black Country Radio.
On April 2nd, Cheryl will be talking with me about my artistic journey and why I’m passionate about bringing clay to new inclusive and diverse audiences and maybe other things. Who knows? Tune in to find out.
It’s good to talk and I’m looking forward to this and spreading the love of clay.
All this has come from simply talking, sharing, and offering to help without expectation. Some of my most rewarding experiences have come from giving time and skills to others—new connections, collaborations, great experiences and friendships always seem to follow.
I’ve always encouraged people to follow what they love, try something new, and not be afraid to step outside their comfort zone. Some need more encouragement than others, and that’s where genuine connection matters—understanding individual interests and helping unlock their potential.
If you’re passionate about something, share it. You never know who’s listening or watching!
Looking forward to what March will bring.
